Shanghai, China – September 25, 2014 – West Tech Chemical CO., LTD participated the “BASF China Suppliers Sustainability Training” course “this program jointly developed by the two parties, BASF and East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). This one-day training course at ECUST covers topics including corporate governance and management, labor and human rights, and environment, health and safety (EHS). Despite the critical challenges of establishing a sustainable supply chain in the Chinese chemical industry, the rising awareness of environmental protection and social responsibility in the industry has created a favorable environment for implementing and strengthening sustainability throughout the local chemical industry supply chain. The training course, representing the joint efforts of BASF and ECUST to address the challenges, allows suppliers in China to gain access to tools, experience and insights to meet industry standards and BASF expectations. It also aims to help raise our sustainability standards, increasing our competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
